Ancient Greece

Do you think you know a lot about Ancient Greece? Well do you know where it is and what the land is like or what their culture was like? How many gods do you think there really are? Greece is so important from landscape to religion. 

     Greece is located in Southeastern Europe and off the little island Crete. Their land is a rocky mountainous land. It was super hard for the farmers to grow wheat and other types of crops that we see in the U.S.A. The easiest crop they grew was grapes and barley. There would sometimes be a rough year for the greeks because the crops would not grow and there was not that much food.

     The culture was not that big. The Greek houses were made of dried mud bricks with tiny windows and a courtyard. The courtyard was a place where everyone in the house would go to play, hangout, and do chores. They would also always be at war with each other for power and pay. The Greeks would also trade with other countries for food, gold, and other stuff for years they did not have food.

     How many Greek Gods are there? Are there 100, 1,000, or  1,000,000. There are actually 12 main gods Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Ares, Apollo, Hermes, Dionysus, Artemis, Hera, Aphrodite, Athena and Demeter but Zeus is their main god. The three eldest gods are Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades who killed the evil titan lord Kronos. The Greeks built temples for every god and goddess.

     Greece is still a place today. It would be so amazing to see the mountainous land, the architecture and read about the different gods they had. What would it be like today without Ancient Greece.
